Favorite discovery on the island! We've enjoyed both lunch and dinner here! The ingredients are fresh and delectable! I've gotten the veggie fajita twice, and it was incredible! Great for families, couples, groups of friends, and they even have a bar area of you are solo.

My party of 4 including my daughter and he boyfriend were seated and it took 1 hour for food to arrive. We complained to the manager who made excuses about a large table ahead of us, we suggested he comp us an order of margaritas and he refused and apologized about the large table. If good service is important to you, avoid the place and go to nachos nearby where the manager cares about service and food is truly excellent every time

Dont waste your money here. This is NOT a good Mexican place. Move on over to Bubba Garcia's. Service was good though. I will say our server was super sweet but got most of our orders wrong. The food just was NOT good. I felt like they got frozen food from a grocery store and served it as fresh.

Erma...yummmyyyyyyy!! Just found this place by accident and what a happy accident indeed. We had the Molcajete for one ( so much food! ) and the Tacos de Carne Asada with half and half carne asada and chorizo. Both were fantastic!! Don't pay attention to the crazy lady review about authenticity....Cilantros does not profess to be but it's not far off :) Amazing sevice by Lacey..she made excellent suggestions on what to order.

Best Mexican on the Island. Had the chicken fajita quesadilla. The quality of the ingredients and preparation and just plain great taste are easily comparable to restaurants with prices twice as much. Great food, great price and friendly and attentive service.

This is not authentic Mexican. For example the quesadillas we're not baked or fried and were smothered in a cheese sauce reminiscent of artificial nacho cheese sauce. The refried beans were bland and had about half a teaspoon of melted cheese on them. The fajitas had a lot of grilled onions and green peppers but pretty weak amounts of guacamole and Pico de Gallo. I've been to some wonderful restaurants that are much more authentic where I'm from in Connecticut. This was very disappointing.

This looked like a trendy Tex-Mex restaurant and we are more into authentic Mexican, but we were hungry and decided to give it a try. What a surprise! What a great meal! We had the Molcajete. A stone bowl full of absolutely fabulous chicken, pork, beef, shrimp and chorizo, cooked with onions and peppers and topped with cheese. Served with a huge fresh avocado salad, a plate of rice and beans and tortillas. There was enough food for 4 people even though the menu said it was for 2. And everything was cooked to perfection. We'll be back!

Had the fish tacos - very tasty Mahi Mahi, came with rice and refried beans. All the food was very tasty without being spicy. My wife ordered the California burrito which comes with Fries. Again very tasty and not overly spicy. We were seated immediately and the service was very good and we will definitely go back.

Great food like the Brunswick location with a decidedly upscale feel. Outdoor seating and a good sized bar area.

First time eating here and found the food, staff and atmosphere great! We are relocating from Atlanta and so glad to find a great place for margaritas, too!

No complaints...the food was pretty solid as expected, Marg's were standard. If I'm back in SSI, I would def. frequent this establishment. The staff overall was very accommodating and extremely friendly. Boom!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
